As a Rebecca Lovell Psychology client, you have the following rights and responsibilities:

Your Rights

  • To be treated with dignity and respect, without discrimination based on age, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, gender, disability or any other basis.

  • To be fully informed about the services you can expect to receive (unless an explicit exception has been agreed upon in advance, or it is not reasonably possible to obtain informed consent).

  • To have the right to an advocate.

  • To have your privacy and confidentiality maintained and having your information managed in a way that complies with relevant legislation.

  • To have access to information relating to you.

  • To be free from sexual harassment, exploitation or coercion.

  • To access quality care appropriate to your needs.

  • To have your individual needs and preferences considered, and your views and opinions will be respected.

  • To participate in decisions about your needs.

  • To make a complaint about the services you are receiving, either to the service or to an external complaints body.

  • To have your information managed in a way that complies with relevant legislation.

  • To receive a clear explanation of costs involved.

Your Responsibilities

  • To disclose any relevant history.

  • To treat staff fairly and with respect.

  • To accept responsibility for decisions you make regarding your care, and to make every effort to engage with the agreed treatment.

  • To respect the rights of staff to work in an environment free from harassment, discrimination or other offensive conduct.

  • To not place staff in any circumstances that could place their physical or mental wellbeing in jeopardy.
